Expectations are growing for the Japanese market to be a driving force for Major League Baseball’s global growth strategy. MLB has secured 14 new sponsors in Japan since 2023 in the run-up to the start of its 2025 season in Tokyo with two games between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs featuring five Japanese players, led by three-time MVP Shohei Ohtani.
