Baseball: Sugano solid in 1st spring training start for Baltimore

Tomoyuki Sugano worked two scoreless innings Wednesday in an impressive first spring training start for the Baltimore Orioles. The 35-year-old Japanese right-hander allowed two hits and one walk during a 28-pitch outing against the Pittsburgh Pirates, who went on to win 7-3. Sugano got through his first inning in just six pitches, giving up an infield single to Tommy Pham before getting Bryan Reynolds to roll into a double play, then coaxing a first-pitch groundout from Andrew McCutchen.
