Chicago Cubs left-hander Shota Imanaga won his fifth consecutive start Monday, striking out an MLB career-high 11 in six solid innings in a 9-2 victory over the Oakland Athletics. Imanaga (14-3) allowed two runs and five hits while walking three at Wrigley Field. His Japanese teammate Seiya Suzuki had three singles in five at-bats.
