Legendary science-fiction author Robert A. Heinlein (“Stranger in a Strange Land,” “The Moon is a Harsh Mistress,” “Starship Troopers,” etc.) is renowned for popularizing the libertarian one-liner “There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch.” But he didn’t come up with it.
