By Dan Lyons Shohei Ohtani does something absolutely remarkable on the baseball field on a seemingly daily basis, and Friday night was no different for the Angels’ two-way superstar. In the sixth inning of Los Angeles’s 6–2 loss to the Diamondbacks, Ohtani hit a mammoth 493-foot home run, the longest of his MLB career and his 30th of the season. He is the first player to reach 30 homers on the season, and is two clear of the Braves’ Matt Olsen for the MLB lead.
